Opal pendant in yellow gold 750 with diamond

The opal pendant with the diamond is in 750 yellow gold and is a real eye-catcher!
The dimensions of the pendant are l: 30mm. xb:10mm. xh:2.8mm.
Stones: a cognac diamond 3.5mm. in SI quality 0.16ct. and a white opal doublette navette: 8 x 17mm. from Australia by Cooper Pedy.

The opal was bought directly from the mine in Australia and cut and processed into a doublet by B+F Opale in Schaffhausen (CH). As a doublet it is more stable as a gemstone, as opals are amorphous and brittle. That is why I also made a closed setting to better protect the opal.
